Born in 2006, from the gathering of salsa lovers and their will to create a popular event that would take place in an exceptional venue, the SalsaMonaco Festival wants to be viewed as the place to be on the French Riviera, for all the salseros throughout the world.

Hamidine Thiam, a salsa instructor of international renown and Gregory Salerno, an entertainment & communications entrepreneur in Monaco, gathered to emphasize and set up this exceptional project with a view to creating a Salsa Festival in one of the most prestigious places in the world.

After 3 years of success, the Monaco International Salsa Festival is from now on the place to be!

Gregory Salerno and Hamidine Thiam together with their team keep travelling throughout the world in order to offer you a wide range of top artists every year. The Principality of Monaco already offers lots of artistic events and appears as a major cultural pole worldwide. Those two observations led  the Monacan company ‘Yakazur’ and the association ‘SalsaMonaco’ to create an International Salsa Festival in Monaco in 2006.
As the Principality of Monaco is used to welcoming some of the best shows, the SalsaMonaco organisers decided to aim high as from the first edition of the festival, offering performers of international renown (Luis Vasquez and Melissa Fernandez, Edie The Salsa Freak, Leon Rose, Jhesus Aponte, Super Mario, US Salsa Force, Salsabor and many more...) and an exceptional concert featuring the famous singer Huey Dunbar- former member of the group DLG.

Since the first edition with over 2,000 participants, this figure has kept increasing in the past few years to reach over 3,500 people during the latest event.
These people, who represent the French Riviera and Italian people as well as a great many international people (Swedish and English people, Northern Europe and American people) made the Media praise the event and what’s more, Monaco people’s heart has been won with the energy and joyful mood emerging from the Monaco Salsa Festival.

The criterions of this project are rather simple: offering both dancers and beginners a gathering of instructors and performers of international renown so as to provide the best introductions to salsa and classes. And in addition to it, offering performances and staggering dance shows for everyone’s entertainment- all of them within unique and magical surroundings.
